Geographic Techniques has joined the Unamanned AirCraft Systems (UAS) Advocacy Network. Because we utilize UAV's (drones) to enhance our mapping operations, we feel it is necessary to not only practice and promote safe and ethical flying techniques.
"The UAS Advocacy Network is a public-private organization of UAS experts and professionals serving as a unified voice for advocacy, education and outreach in support of UAS. Their mission and values are to promote through advocacy, education and outreach the benefits of safe, legal and ethical operation of UAS, and to be an influential leader in advocating the value of UAS for safe and ethical users." Their core values are to:
Seek balance in personal and professional benefits with ethics and safety.
Promote dialogue to reflect technologies with similar capabilities.
Provide expert leadership in the UAS industry so it will continue to be dynamic, requiring the leadership and expertise of the UAS Advocacy Network.
We look forward to our membership with the UAS Advocacy Network as we strive to maintain trustful UAV missions, and to help encourage better understanding of drone use and the awesome possibilities they bring to the field.
