Ready to Fly

February 12, 2018

Although the groundhogs may have seen their shadows earlier this month, I get the feeling Spring will be here before you know it.  Now is the time to think about this season's outdoor projects and start planning your land management activities.  Whatever your needs, our mapping birds are ready and capable to help you out.

Our UAV (drone) flight services include high resolution orthophotos, orthomosaics, 3D imagery, point clouds, plant health and elevation imagery, and video.  Our high accuracy GPS can enhance the accuracy of aerial imagery positioning through corrections associated with ground control points.

Early planning is important for any drone mission.  If leaf-off imagery is required, the window of opportunity to obtain quality photos is typically limited to early Spring and late Fall.  Spring can herald weather difficulties such as high winds, rain, and freezing precipitation, and having a successful flight at the right time is crucial.  Depending on the flight location, local and/or FAA permissions may be needed.  Currently, it can take up to 90 days to obtain proper airspace authorization.  Therefore, having your plans defined well in advance helps us to mitigate any problems that might crop up before and during a drone mission.

Let is know what your aerial project needs this season.  Check out our UAV (drone) page and request a quote today!
